John Penner praises Gilbert’s recently released Collected Poems at the Los Angeles Times (the collection includes the above poem, “Bartleby at the Wall.”) Gilbert, who suffers from Alzheimer’s, is “small in his wheelchair, mostly unable to talk, his brain diminished by disease.”
